Throughput of Vanino Commercial Seaport up 1.4% in Q1 07, y-o-y

In the first quarter of 2007, throughput of Vanino Commercial Seaport totaled 1491.7 thou tons (+1.4%), the company reports. Over the reported period export totaled 827.3 thou tons (+1.7%, year-on-year). Export included 518.4 thou tons of timber (+ 6.8%), 124.5 thou tons of coal (+ 60.9%). Import amounted to 199.1 thou tons (+4.8%, year-on-year). Import of alumina grew by 3.5% to 189.8 thou tons. In the three-month period volume of coastal trade cargo amounted to 72.3 thou tons (-12.1%). Ferry line Vanino-Kholmsk handled 393 thou tons of different cargo (+2%, year-on-year).
In January-March the port handled 401 vessels (including 168 ferry vessels) and 17311 wagons. Container turnover of the port amounted to 5260 TEU. Vanino Commercial Seaport is the largest stevedoring company at Khabarivsk region. It provides handling and forwarding services. Cargo is delivered via Vanino to the north-eastern regions of Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of APR.
