EU approves EUR 10 million grant to co-finance project in Trelleborg and Sassnitz

The EU Commission has approved a EUR 10 million grant to co-finance a Motorway of the Seas project in Trelleborg and Sassnitz. The aim is to upgrade the capacities of a rail/sea link and develop new intermodal train services. The Commission has also approved EUR five million in co-funding of a Motorways of the Sea project to improve the infrastructure in Karlshamn and Klaipeda and to support intermodal transports.
Norrköping has been notified that the EU Commission will contribute with 10 per cent of the financing of the new fairway, about SEK 30 million, to the port of Norrköping, reports the daily Norrköpings Tidningar.
